Moreton Telegraph Station Cape York
Camping
Lots of space and plenty of shady campsites are available throughout the well-kept grounds. Fireplaces are established in the most popular campsites (firewood is not supplied - please collect your firewood outside the property prior to arrival).
Three 'unisex' shower/toilet facilities are available for use by campers. Power is supplied by a generator which runs from 7am till 10pm. This provides lighting and boosts water pressure for showers and toilets. Public campground operated by Cook Shire Council - Ph 07 4069 5444.
Safari Tents
The self-contained Safari-Tent site is situated away from the main camping area, and has its own under-cover dining area and ablutions block.
Each fully-screened tent comes supplied with linen, towels and face-washer. Crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils are provided for preparation and consumption of meals.
A campfire site is provided where you can relax with a 'sundowner' while watching the 'bush TV'.

A walking track leads from the rear of the Safari Tent site to a Paperbark tree lagoon, and on to Cave Creek where the flow of water has carved through the bedrock creating a natural bridge. The track returns via the Wenlock River bank to the front of the Safari-Tent site. The walking track provides a wonderful opportunity to observe the bountiful bird-life in their natural surroundings and to learn about some of the local plant life.
